Bulletman, Captain Marvel Jr. and Minute Man team up for a once only appearance as the Crime Crusaders Club and it wasn't even mentioned on the cover. This was Fawcett's intriguing and regrettably short-lived response to the Justice Society of America.

Lee Travis, a newspaper reporter, puts on the costume of the Crimson Avenger to fight crime outside of the law's strictures. He is partnered with Wing, his valet and side-kick. He is also a member of the 7 Soldiers of Victory. He has no powers but is a strong fighter and uses a gas gun. (Wait a minute, newspaper reporter, guy in coat with mask, side-kick Chinese valet, yes, they were a direct copy of the Green Hornet and Kato!)

Ralph Rivers, a weak looking fellow in his dark glasses, trench-coat, and hunchback, is really something else: "Ralph peels off his outer garments and false hump, stretches his great wings, and with a mighty swish, soars into the clear blue sky as The Crimson Comet! His wings were grafted onto his back by his Father, whose mind snapped after his wife was killed by a burglar.
