The Golden Age Directory provides information on over one thousand characters (heroes, villains, and more) from the earliest decades of the original comic book industry. Although the "Golden Age of Comic Books" is often cited as being from 1938 to 1956, this resource has profiles before and well after that period. To the few illustrated characters from the "Platinum Age" that appear before Superman's debut in ACTION COMICS #1 up until 1967, well into the "Silver Age of Comic Books." This expansive guide is here to inform, delight and entertain.
The entries cover details about each character including the the titles and publishers in which they first appeared such as Timely (later Marvel Comics), National Periodicals (later DC Comics), Centaur Publications, Nedor Publications, Dell Publications and many more.
This directory has been illustrated using small images entitled "Micro-Heroes" which contain glimpses into the various costume styles of the era down to the smallest detail.
