The Joker was first encountered by Batman during a robbery at the Ace Chemical Factory when he was The Red Hood. The Red Hood escaped by leaping into a drainage vat of chemical waste, but later discovered the toxins, on entering the helmet disguise he was wearing had bleached his skin chalk white, dyed his hair fluorescent green, and stretched his lips into a hideous, permanent red grin. Thus the Joker was born!...It's not hard to understand why such a transformation snapped his already unstable mind. He has no powers. He is a ruthless psychopath with a twisted imagination and penchant for crime, especially if it involves annoying the Batman. He uses a poison called Joker venom which is normally sprayed at the victim, and kills them instantly, while contracting the face muscles into a ghastly grin.

Jon Linton is a "flyer, scientist, adventurer" who fights against the evil alien Nogos in the year 2000 on "Quinton, Land of the 5th Dimension." Jon does this with the help of his friends Dr. Kane, Lisa Kane (Jon's sweetie), and Alpha-712, a native of Quinton who can "make from mental force anything they have seen or understand." After beating the Nogos Jon et al travel back in time and arrive on Earth in the year 1940.
