May of 1939, Wonder Comics #1 came out. This title's star hero was called Wonderman. His powers were virtually identical to Superman's. This was a problem that made National Comics file a copyright infringement case against the publisher. The case went to court and the judge decided in National's favour. There was a Wonder Comics #2, but no Wonderman in it, and that would be the last of this title's run.Fred Carson is a radio engineer who likes to travel on his vacations. He's in Tibet when a yogi gives him a magic ring to fight for "humanity and justice." This gives him the powers of super-strength, performing Hulk leaps, and repelling bullets.
