Christmas 1939: Broadway gossip columnist Walt Whitney is frustrated at the crime that runs rampant in his beloved city. Despite having a weakling image, Walt decides to become a masked hero to pursue crooks that the law can t touch. He calls himself Bob Phantom, after a famed stage magician whose greatest trick was to "fade out" on his audience. Walt Whitney s good friend Captain Casey gives him leads on crime, which he follows up as Bob Phantom. Jinx Friday, his girlfriend and secretary, also assists him. He can appear and disappear at will in a cloud of smoke, and seems to be invulnerable.

Adam Antaeas Jr. is a sculptor and artist. He creates a statue of the Greek "god" Antaeus, only to find that when danger threatens the statue comes to life. When that happens, Adam gains super strength--the statue already has it--and can, like the statue, bounce through the air and land on bad guys, stopping them cold. Of course, like the mythical Antaeus, Adam and the statue are both vulnerable in mid-bounce.

The Archer from across the Sea. The text says he's from Europe but doesn't say where exactly. Since he's wearing a beret (and since France already has the Phantom), I'm guessing Belgium. In this story the visiting archer gets kidnapped by a hoodlum who takes his place to get revenge on Green Arrow. Copper
