Oddly enough, though, we never see the Arrow of Alaska in the story. Instead, we get to see AofA's sidekick-in-training (son Jerry). In typical 1950s fashion, of course, Green Arrow doesn't tell the suspicious Speedy about training Jerry, so Speedy leaps to the conclusion that he's being replaced. Even more oddly enough, we really don't get told the superhero name of either the off-stage adult Ed or the on-stage boy Jerry (even though he's on eight pages of story!), just that they intend to start fighting crime as the "Arrows of Alaska," a name for the two-man team. Jim Randall, an office clerk, is lying in bed licking his wounds (he tried to stop his date's younger brother from getting beaten up and wound up getting thrashed himself) when he is visited by Atlas, the "Greek God of Strength." Atlas feels sorry for Randall and teaches him his "strange, secret exercises." Randall goes out, tries the exercises, and gains superpowers, which he then uses to fight crime, at the command of Atlas. He has super strength and agility.
