Dick Tracy's main ability is his determination, pushing on to solve the case whatever the obstacles. He has used a variety of high-tech wrist watches - the original one was a two-way radio, later replaced by a two-way television, which eventually included its own in-built computer. He sometimes wears a miniature ring camera, suitable for covertly gathering evidence. He used phone wiretaps back before they existed in the real world, and a "voice-o-graph" to identify criminals by their voiceprints. Good shot, great detective.

"Dirk the Demon, 24th century Archaeologist," is the son of Baron Cay and lives in the Baron's castle. Dirk is also a promising young archaeologist and loves going out on digs against his father's wishes. Dirk has no superpowers but is a good archeaologist. The artwork by Bill Everet makes Dirk look like a girl, and it seems he may have been intended to be a she originally.

Dr. Clark Savage Jr. was raised from birth to be a man of superhuman strength and protean genius. With his five scrappy aides - the greatest brains ever assembled in one group - and a vast Mayan wealth at his disposal, he has dedicated his life to the destruction of evil doers the world over! By issue #5 Doc received a magical hood adorned with a mystic ruby, which granted him superhuman powers. Taking the name "The Invincible", Doc Savage began a new phase in his crime-fighting career. The sacred hood and "miracle-working ruby" allows him to hypnotise people, deflect bullets, and gives him superhuman strength. After twenty odd issues he reverted back to the normal Doc Savage.
